UK Police Get A Missile

If you come across this low-flying missile you had better watch out. Because this is Sussex Police Force's latest new recruit - a 148mph Lotus Exige S.

Dressed in full police uniform and with a set of flashing lights on the roof, it is Britain's fastest police car and can hit 60mph in only 4.1 seconds. Add in nimble handling, a grippy chassis and a 218bhp supercharged engine and no boy racers or getaway drivers will stand a chance against this £35,000 cop car, which can outrun most supercars cross-country. In the hands of Sergeant Paul Masterson, the Exige will be used at motoring events to encourage young people to drive responsibly and safely. Fortunately, then, it will not be patrolling the nations motorways on the look out for speeding motorists.
